Anthrax has been on my mind lately, since I’ve been listening to their new album For All Kings (which is awesome, by the way), so I thought I’d go back in time–no pun intended–to feature one of my all-time favorite songs of theirs. This is “Time,” usually referred to as “Got the Time,” which originally appeared on the band’s 1990 album Persistence of Time, widely recognized as a classic. This particular performance was recorded in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2010 and demonstrates that the band is still every bit as hard-hitting and tight as they were more than 25 years ago. This catchy song is a thrash metal anthem and a favorite at Anthrax live shows, which are all very dynamic.

As the years go by I’m continually amazed at Anthrax’s longevity and popularity. They’re just a fantastic band and there are very good reasons why all metalheads love them. Not only has their music been consistently great for 35 years, but they’re also very cool people. I’ve interacted with Scott Ian on Twitter and he’s always gracious to his fans, eager to share with them their enthusiasm for the music. You just really can’t go wrong with this band.

Shabbat Shalom and have a great weekend! \m/
