Here is some extremely rare color film footage taken in the minutes and hours after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941. The cheesy 80s-style synth soundtrack adds nothing, but the images themselves are pretty amazing.

This is not a simulation. It’s not CGI, or models, or a Hollywood recreation, or that horrible Michael Bay garbage. This is World War II as it really looked, with burning ships, dead and wounded men, and the shock of a nation caught unawares.

Thanks again to the Romano Archives for this footage. Nearly everything they put up on their channel is amazing.
