It’s rare for me to update The Armored Satchel on a weekday, but it’s the end of the month and I need those votes…so if you’re a fan, your cup runneth over! To get to Chapter 16, click the cover image above, or click here.
In the latest chapter of this spy adventure serial, set in German-occupied Europe during World War II, Max and Gretchen exchange the locale of Paris for their common hometown: Kaiserslautern, which has been much talked about but not seen in the story until now. And the Gestapo bitch, Ilse Vier, may be hot on their trail…until she’s diverted by a very dangerous errand which involves her going into a live combat zone!
I hope readers like this chapter, which is a bit more heavy on character development than usual. I have realized in the past few chapters that the emotional center of The Armored Satchel is found in three character relationships: Max’s (possibly imaginary) relationship to his boyfriend Jose, his rocky relationship with Gretchen, and Ilse Vier’s relationship with her employer, Helmut Knochen, who may or may not be flirting with her. All three relationships are explored to one degree or another in Chapter 16.
The end of the month is approaching. The Armored Satchel is on the verge of breaking into the top 30 on JukePop Serials, which I never believed was a possibility for June. But I really need your votes to get me over the top. There will also be another chapter posted sometime before midnight on June 30, most likely Saturday. Please vote!
The real fireworks are on the way! Stay tuned for more chapters.
