Tuesday, not Monday, is the worst day of the week…you’re already weary and it’s still so far from the weekend. This morning I needed a little metal to pick me up, so I found this, the inimitable German metal queen Doro Pesch, backed by full orchestra, doing her iconic song “Für Immer.”

I admit–and I know this is shocking–that when I first heard Doro about 1998 or so, I wasn’t that impressed. I had no appreciation (yet) for the talent and dedication she has brought to heavy metal for the past 30 years and why so many European metal fans love her. She is still almost unknown in North America, which is a huge shame. Doro often plays the Wacken Open Air festival. She was there this past summer and I hope she’ll be there next year too.

I believe this performance of “Für Immer” occurred the same night as the mind-blowing Ronnie James Dio set at Wacken 2004. This clip is from the Armageddon Over Wacken 2004 video, the sequel to the incredible 2003 version I reviewed not long ago.

Hang in there, folks!
