“(notes on) biology”: A charming 5-minute film about imagination. [video]

This is a very short live action and animated film called (notes on) biology, which I believe first came out back in 2011 but has become more popular since then. It’s a charming little story about a boy who shows up late for his biology class and then gets a bit…er, distracted by the possibilities of the creatures he’s doodling in his notes. Possibilities like laser-shooting flying elephants that can destroy planets. Yes, you read that right!

I don’t know much about it and all I can tell from its IMDB entry is that it was produced by Will Madden with director of photography Jonathan Silver. It’s from Ornana Films and won an award in 2012 for Best Animated Short at the SXSW festival. There’s not much more to say about it than that…except it may give you a grin on a Monday morning!
