It’s that time again–not just Halloween (which is in 12 days), but the imminent release of another book. The Rats of Midnight, my fourth novel for Samhain Horror, is coming out on December 1, 2015, but it’s available for preorder right now! You can preorder your copy (either ebook or paperback) from the publisher, Samhain Horror, here, or you can order the Kindle version on Amazon here. If you’re a regular reader of this blog or a fan of some of my other books, I strongly encourage you to preorder The Rats of Midnight. Why is that? Because the more preorders there are, the higher the book’s ranking will be on December 1 when the copies are released–and that, of course, leads to good things! So if you are a loyal fan, first, thank you, and second, it would be wonderful if you could reserve your copy before December 1.

The Rats of Midnight is a chilling little novel set in Portland, Oregon in the year 1999. Here’s the summary:

The Rose City’s bloody secret!

Raven knows a terrifying secret. Fresh out of law school, she’s just joined one of Portland, Oregon’s hottest tech firms at the peak of the dot-com boom. But when she stumbles upon an unholy cult that serves up human victims to a god made of live rats, she suspects her bosses and co-workers are among the cultists. Their bloody talons run deep—from Portland’s council chambers and boardrooms to the cubicles of Internet start-ups. As the city’s homeless become rat food one by one, Raven tries to stop the cult once and for all—before she becomes the next sacrifice!

This is an amazingly fun book, and it’s a departure from my previous “historical zombie” books and the Gothic horror of Doppelgänger. But it’s definitely built to please the discerning horror fan, and it was a lot of fun to write. That’s usually a sign it will be fun to read too.

Thanks for everyone’s support. I can’t wait to see the book on the shelves and in e-readers. A book release is always an exciting time!

  1. OK I will add this to my list of books I want for my birthday in November, but I need to also add the first three to the list so I can read those first. I love reading books in a setting I can identify with. Do you know if the first three are offered as a set?
