I meant to post this yesterday, but as yesterday was release day for my new horror book The Rats of Midnight, this sort of got lost in the shuffle. On December 1, 2015, this website, SeanMunger.com, hit 1,000,000 overall page views. Back on New Year’s Day I recall wondering whether it was possible the blog would hit a million views during 2015, and I concluded that, while anything was possible, it wasn’t likely. It turns out I was wrong! When I got up yesterday morning and checked my page views, I found I’d gone over the top.
A million is just a number, but it’s a nice round one, and it definitely feels great to have so many loyal readers who keep coming back here day after day. Those of you reading this know exactly who you are, and this post is for you. Big thanks to everyone who reads, comments, shares, likes, and all the wonderful stuff you do. I feel like I’ve actually had a chance to say something worthwhile to somebody–about history, principally–and, while perhaps it’s self-indulgent, I’m glad to have had the opportunity to do that.
Also, it’s not just about what I put on this blog. Through the shares, comments, follows and discussion here I’ve been introduced to some wonderful people who have shared not merely fascinating insights on history, movies, books, politics and all other subjects, but terrific wine, wonderful food, travel, and so many other things. A boring blog (which this one, a long time ago, once was) is just about the blogger. A good blog is really a community, and that’s what I like to think this, a community. So here’s to all of you!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and I also hope you keep coming back!
