These videos are part of a new series I’m doing on my YouTube channel called “Bond in Context.” In this series, I’m going to talk about the historical context of every one of the James Bond movies, from Dr. No in 1962 to SPECTRE in 2015 (or, if it takes me that long, the new Bond film rumored to be coming in 2019). There’s a tremendous amount of history behind the Bond series, and I thought video would be a fun way to do it!

The first video is an introduction to the series. The second is the first substantive installment, analyzing the historical context of Dr. No which came out in 1962.

In case you haven’t seen the film, here is the trailer:

I’ll be doing many more in this series, so watch in the coming days for additional entries.
