Take an online course with Sean Munger!
My name is Sean Munger, and I’m a historian, author, teacher and podcaster. Beginning in summer 2017 I’m going to be offering a series of fully interactive online courses, through Zoom (free virtual meeting software), on a variety of subjects.
I have a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in American history, specializing in the Early Republic and especially environmental history. My online courses are interactive–you can ask questions, follow up and discuss the history and the documents with me and with your fellow students. My approach to these courses is not to repeat the words of historians (including me), but to encourage your own thinking and learning by reading and understanding primary source documents from history–documents written by those people who were actually there at the time. I’ll deliver these documents through the screen view function on Google Hangouts, and we’ll read them together and discuss…no “homework”!
My World War II History and Virtual Global Tour class combines an in-depth historical approach with geography, which will enable you to “visit” the sites we talk about through Google Earth and Google Maps.
